Social Change: Systems Thinking This event has completed and concluded our three-part Social Change Empowerment series. Huge thanks to The Permira Foundation and to Erfan Daliri for sharing practical tips and insight with 30 of our charity and social enterprise leaders on how to use systems thinking to bring about social change. To achieve real social change, we must look beyond the symptoms alone and apply systems thinking. Systems thinking looks at the whole picture; relationships and other parts of the process where the symptoms show up. It’s when we look at what leads to these symptoms that we see how connected problems in society are. Short term fixes don’t fix the root of the problem. - Erfan Daliri, CEO, Kind Enterprises Erfan’s insights were fascinating and hugely relevant to anyone working to create social change today. In HILS’ sector, health and social care, his point about moving towards long-term systems thinking is more essential and pertinent than ever. - Tom Cottam, Director of Strategy and Development, Hertfordshire Independent Living Service (HILS) Other sessions in the series were, An Introduction to Racial Equity and Communications for Social Change.
