The social enterprises we support are special. They have a strong social mission, a proven track record and a robust business model. They have the potential to grow to national scale or significance. And they have the capacity and willingness to work with us and be open to change. They also need to be:
- Registered as a charity or demonstrate a clear charitable purpose, e.g. as a community interest company (CIC) with an asset lock in place
- Making annual revenues greater than £1 million (or be on track to achieve that in 18 months), including a significant proportion of earned income (i.e. not from donations or grants)
- Based mainly in the UK
We do not make loans or standalone grants but provide organisations with a package of professional business support and targeted grant funding designed to strengthen their capacity to grow.
Interested in working with us? Let’s talk.
We work with world-class businesses which share a belief in the power of business and social enterprises working together to solve pressing problems in society. They also share a desire to offer employees high-quality, skills-based volunteering opportunities to support their development, using their professional expertise to help social enterprises grow.
Their engagement is hands-on: each corporate partner has a senior representative on our Investment Committee which decides on the social enterprises we support.
Our corporate partners commit an annual package of funding and days of employee time to support our work. They also work with us to promote the value of skills-based volunteering with SBT within their organisations and more broadly in the business community.
