Dr Kate Chhatwal, CEO of Challenge Partners has been named in the 2020 New Year’s Honours, for services to education.

Kate became Chief Executive of Challenge Partners in 2018. Challenge Partners enables collaboration between schools to accelerate pupil outcomes, focussing on school improvement, leadership development and knowledge exchange. It currently has 485 schools within the network.

Kate is also Co-Founder and Vice-Chair of the Leading Women’s Alliance, which empowers more women to take up senior positions in education. She holds a PhD in education policy and has more than 15 years experience in leading policies and programmes to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged children.

Kate said, “My own school experience opened my eyes to the power of education to expand young minds with new experiences, ideas and perspectives, which benefit individuals, communities and society. It prompted me to try through my career and voluntary roles to enable more children and communities to benefit from a great education. I feel honoured (and rather embarrassed) to receive an award for doing something I love and care passionately about.”

Challenge partners has benefited from in-kind support from a cross-section of SBT corporate partners. These include Bain, Clifford Chance, EY, Getronics and Permira.
